We are creating musical experiences for our family for a year and a half now. We envisioned an intense three days where you can tap in and tap out of the most amazing sounds you can experience on such an intimate event.
And here we are.. At The Monastery. We have asked every single one of our musicians personally to come and play at this festival. Our musical program is divided over multiple stages. We have two main stages, one The Gardens of Babylon family stage and we spiritual concerts that will take you to another galaxy.
Whatever your mood is in, go find your sound. Together we will explore life through music on our three day summer festival.
From electronic to ethnic sound...
From the most well known to the family's favourite..

Camping on Site
People have asked us… Can we book a hotel or an Airbnb nearby? Can we stay with relatives outside of The Monastery grounds.
No, angel you can’t.. And here’s why..
The full experience We have created a three day experience that simply requires you to commit once you go through the gates to enter The Monastery for the first time. This is not a festival where you tap in or tap out.
The beautiful location The Monastery location is unique in its kind. We camp within the walls of The Monastery. This is not an operating camping but for three days you have the option to stay within the magic of The Monastery. Imagine a beautiful, lush green surrounding that will host you for the duration of your stay. Feel it, to believe it.
The rules For safety reasons The Monastery has requested that we do not allow re-entry.
Don’t forget to bring fairy lights (running on batteries), carpets and other dreamy items to make sure you find your way home..
Important to know: - This is not an operating camping. - The camping is on the festival or The Monastery grounds. - We have showers & bathrooms on the grounds. - We have no electricity on the camping sites. For more information on Camping on Site please visit our FAQs.
Our RV tickets sold out within two days.. We are now trying to add more.
Now that we camp on the grounds, don't forget to decorate your tents..
We go from spirituality to sin and from sin back to spirituality. If we go in for a three day summerfestival, we camp, we dance, we adventure. Stretching becomes very important. At The Monastery you will be able to join different types of yoga.
On Saturday and Sunday morning at 11 o’ Trash, we will welcome our angel Henry for his Hot Mess Yoga. No matter what state you are in, this yoga will save your day. Did you just get up or about to crash down, join. And remember to “Breathe, bitches!”
But yoga means the world to us. And there is more to it than the fun element of Hot Mess Yoga. You will have the option to join several yoga classes on sound or in silence. We are honoured to welcome the family’s favourite and most amazing yoga teachers for The Monastery classes of: - Vinyasa - Acro Yoga - Yin Yoga
Go enjoy a class to bring you down, ground you or lift you up for whatever lies ahead. The program will be announced on site. Just make sure you wear colourful clothing ready to bend and stretch.
Yoga from seriously funny to seriously good..
Festival stretches all day long...
Yoga teachers will join from all over the world..
Our Spiritual Guide of The Gardens of Babylon, Villia de Koningh, created an extended program of meditation, mantra singing and healing. Go find her at the Spiritual Zone. The full festival program will be available on arrival but you can start to get to know our instructors by clicking here.
Our incredible family consists of creatives. During our three day weekend away many of them will offer you the option to learn their craft. You will be able to create headpieces, dreamcatchers, dance with flags, hoolahoop, handread and so much more...

Art & Live Performances
The most beautiful part of our community, that we lovingly call our family, is that we co-create. From the build to the breakdown, we are bringing the creativity of the beautiful people that surround us to every event. As we are colouring the picture of our side program, we can't tell you which direction we go to, but we know it will be brought to you with love.
Every show we invite our most creative and colourful family members to add a dash of colour to our crowd. The Market of Curiosities exceeds popularity at events that take place for the dusty adventures like Africa Burn or Burning Man.
This Market can NOT be missed at our three day festival. Find the most amazing festival wear, vintage, biodegradable glitter, headpieces, jewellery, The Gardens of Babylon merchandise and anything you can imagine at the one and only Market of Curiosities.
Keep an eye on our payment options! The reception at The Monastery is usually already very low. We expect that with our festival the reception will be close to zero. This means that The Market of Curiosities can’t except card transactions. The Market of Cuiriosities runs by cash only.
Vintage straight from the theaters..
Cute little Indian rings are a girl's best friend..
Flash it, dash it..
For the Love of Food
If you know our team, you know food is life. ESPECIALLY when you are about to travel to a Monastery for an x amount of days. Party, dancing, yoga, it all relies on good nutrition.
The Monastery decided to only allow The Gardens of Babylon festival to take over for more than three days in 2018. We live, dance, sleep and camp on the same grounds. One term of agreement was that the food & drinks can not be brought to the festival by the visitors.
What to do when your visitors can not bring their own food or drinks to your (camping) festival?
- We keep the token price low at €2,5. - We make sure we have the a vegetarian friendly, from health to manly hangover food menu. - We have a Juice Bar with fresh fruits. - We have a Babylon Supermarket with DIY food & necessities.
For more information on rules and regulations please read the FAQs from A to Z.
NB: The rule is unfortunately not going to change. But in the end our goal is that you think it was most convenient not to bring all the groceries while travelling to The Monastery grounds.

The colourful Goddesses inside our Gardens..
The Gardens of Babylon is an international community. We love the fact that our family is growing in cities all over the world. The only downside of this is that for a three day festival people will travel from far away to bring their magic.
Like last year we have implemented sustainability at our festival. We love Mother Earth and we are aware of the care that it needs. We also ask our crowd to commit to the following steps to control our environmental footprint.
A few things that we have been working on:
Bring Your Own Cup We urge you to bring your own cup to the festival. This will limit the amount of plastic cups that we need to use and with that waste for a 3,500 people festival. Please take note that we will measure drinks according to the standards, even if you bring a big bucket on a string around your neck. 😂
Re-usable plastic cups & Babylon Bottles If you didn't bring your cup, at the bar we work with re-usable plastic cups. You can purchase one of the very limited collection of Babylon Bottles as you can see in the picture below. Stay tuned for more information on these Bottles.
Drinking Water Fountains We have drinking water fountains for you to stay hydrated for the duration of our festival.
Recycle Your Water Bottle We have Barleduc Plastic Water Bottles that we will collect at the bars to proceed to recycling. Please return your empty bottle instead of throwing this in the trash.
Leave no Trace The trash you throw away is not affecting an organisation but our earth. You do not know where it ends up. By all times, respect that you leave no trace. This is from a tent to a cigaret but. We will help you on site to keep this in mind.
Ride Shares The Monastery Facebook Group offers the option for you to share rides. The less cars, the better. Find or share a spot right here.
To veggie or not to veggie The impact of the Meat and Dairy Industry to our planet is incredibly high, but we are here to inspire not to tell you what to do. For this reason we will have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options, but this is not a strictly veg-festival. Go explore what plant-based options we have.
Offsetting We have partnered with GO2-greenevents to offset CO2 emissions from artists, event organisers and, for the first time, for you as well! We’re logging all travel emissions and from the total calculation, an investment is made to support a project in Brazil that preserves 90,000 hectares of rainforest – protecting local communities, wildlife and ultimately our planet.
Help us save our environment and offset your carbon emissions! THIS FEATURE WILL BE ONLINE ON JULY 3 AT 3PM!
Biodegradable baby! Keep your cosmetics biodegradable. The microscopical pieces of plastic end up in nature to never ever disappear again. For this reason we urge and allow our festival crowd to ONLY use biodegradable glitter. That means your shampoos, your soap, your toothpaste and that dash of glitter that you put on. If you can’t find biodegradable glitter you can find our Cosmic Glitter Tribe on site to sparkle yourself environmental friendly.
What would you like to add for a sustainable festival! We would love to hear your suggestions!
Respect, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.. Let's live by these words.
